Luca

I have to write this down before I forget and so I can put this in Luca's Shutterfly scrapbook that I make for him.

Today he said to Corey "Don't make a mess, Momma will freak out on you!"

He also said something sweet to me and I said "You make my heart melt!"  And he was all concerned about my heart..."what's wrong with your heart Mommy, why is it melting?"

Laundry just isn't for grown ups!

I realized that I didn't take many pics of the kids in January. So, why not multi-task and take pictures while doing laundry? This is such a great age because the kids always want to help out. They think laundry is fun, and since this blog is to document all the fun things they do, laundry will be one of them!

This was very sweet because Olivia was struggling carrying her laundry and Luca helped without me asking him to or anything.  He's such a good big bro.
I'm not joking but they were seriously singing the song "Teamwork" from Wonder Pets.  It was so cute.
Proof that doing laundry is fun!
Luca was begging me to pour the soap in.
What a handsome boy!
Trying to reach for all the clothes!

They can't fold yet, but they can put their clothes away!
So cute!
Did you notice the tutu that she wears daily? :)
I actually had that tutu in the basket to be washed and somehow it didn't make it in the washing machine?  I wonder who did that?

What to do on a cold winter January day?

Play with your Mobigo...I caught her sitting like this and grabbed my camera!  She puts this tutu on almost daily.  When she puts it on she says I'm a princess and will twirl around and dance.

Olivia bought Luca this doctor kit set for Xmas and they love to play doctor and patient. Here's Olivia asking Luca what his name is, how old he is, and what is wrong with him. If you're wondering what is under her eye, those would be boogers! Eww  Thank goodness for Boogie wipes!

It's pretty hard to take a picture of yourself using a DSL camera!  Everyone always says that Luca looks like Corey but I've always thought he looks like me and Olivia looks like Corey.  Luca overheard us talking about it and he said to me "I don't look like you, I look like him (pointing to Corey).  I don't have a big nose like you!"  OMG that's the first time he ever said that.  Sorry buddy, but you just might end up with my big nose, too!

Library Story Time!

When I had Luca I was so good at taking him to the library every single week for storytime. Once I had two kids it was stressful and the age that Luca was at he wouldn't sit still and it was difficult with a newborn trying to chase him around so I decided not to take them for a while. Today, instead of doing my normal spinning class, I decided to take them to the library. I really need to start doing this every week with them because it's so educational and so good for them. Bye Bye spin class on Thursdays, hello library time!

I was so proud of the kids. The library had them write their name on an index card. Luca had no problem doing this, but I had to help Olivia. She can write the letter O - L - and I which is great, so I helped her with the rest. Then they had to put their cards in a slot that went with their 1st letter of their name. The librarian sang a song in the beginning and introduced everyone, it was cute.

The librarian also did this really neat thing where she had pictures of animals in a shoe box and she would describe the animal and would see if the kids could guess what it was before she pulled the picture out of the box. She described "this animal lives in the water and has no arms or legs"  she puckered her lips and said they do this.  Olivia shouted "it's a FISHY!" Luca also guessed the Lion which I was surprised he got because she described him having four legs and a mane around his face and he shouted Lion before she gave out the last hint which she growled. I didn't know he knew what a mane was!  I love to see the kids participate and know the answers!

I just read my 1st book for this month, Hunger Games!  Great book!!!  Can't wait to read the 2nd one that goes with the series and the movie is out in March!

Baking Cookies!

We made some cookies and dinner for a good friend who just had a baby and when I looked out my kitchen window I saw this big guy...

Checking out the cookies.
When I ask Luca to smile this is what he does.

Coloring while I make dinner.
My little taste tester.

Trip to Michigan

I took the kids to Michigan for a few days last week and they were so excited!

I made sure to put Luca in the cutest shirt Zia got him for Xmas.  I love this shirt on him.
All packed and ready to go.  They just love that they have their own suitcases.
I'm sad I didn't end up taking any pictures while in Michigan but we had a nice time.  Luca came back with a cold/cough so he's still recovering.
Olivia had one of the biggest public meltdowns EVER.  My sister took the kids to a place called Jungle Java and even though it was a neat place it was jam packed b/c the kids in Michigan were still on winter break.  Olivia had fun but had the biggest meltdown I've ever seen when we left.  I was very frazzled b/c the place was so big I kept losing the kids b/c they would dart in separate directions and it was like a maze trying to find them.  They are all good, though!

2012 Resolutions

1.  To take a photography/photoshop class.  I recently received Lightroom as a Xmas gift which is a Photoshop program and I am looking forward to learning how to use it.  I wouldn't mind getting into photography maybe by the end of the year as a small side business.

2.  Continue to work out at least 3 to 5x a week.

3.  Take Luca to swim lessons to learn how to swim this summer.

4.  Read at least 1book a month.
