We closed on our house today. It was very sad. The house was totally empty and Luca enjoyed running around the empty house.

May 1, 2009

Today was a rainy day. I watched Evie today. Luca loves to give Evie hugs and kisses, I hope he will be like that when his sister comes here! They staked the lot today and should dig the footer next Tuesday - weather permitting. It's supposed to rain all week next week....ugh! Hopefully this rain will go away so they can build this house! We also spent the rest of the day at Corey's Aunt Dayna's house to celebrate Corey's Great Uncle Fred's 90th Birthday. So he is Luca's Great Great Uncle.

Today was a perfect day to go to the park! It was gorgeous outside. Luca had so much fun. We met with Moms and Munchkins Group. Luca loved running around the playground and swinging. We did have to take a break for snacks of course and because mommy was getting REALLY tired after chasing Luca around. He's such a little daredevil.

Today is the first day they started construction on our home. They are digging the back area to put the retaining wall in. It's so exciting to see the start of the process. We can't wait to see the finished product!

Today they poured the footer to get it ready to lay the retaining wall on top of it. They were able to pour it before the rain came.

Today they put the retaining wall in! They were able to install it in one day. This wall will hold all the dirt behind our property so it doesn't collapse into the house/basement. Each slab weighs 3,000 pounds. The truck that delivered it was pulled over and fined $500 because it was 33,000 pounds over the weight limit.

Today Luca and I went to the Firestation in Dublin with the MNM group. We took a tour of the facility and were able to see all the big firetrucks. Everyone was very nice. They even gave Luca a Fire hat! But, Luca doesn't like anything on his head so he chose not to wear it most of the tour.

Luca's new word of the day today was bird and tweet tweet. It sounds more like "bir and twe twe".

Today they back filled the retaining wall and are getting ready to dig the foundation next week.
